Color Our World – 2025 Summer Reading Program

The McDonald County Library is thrilled to announce the launch of our 2025 Summer Reading Program, themed "Color Our World," featuring a weeklong registration event starting June 2nd at all library branches.

We invite children, teens, and adults to join us in celebrating the joy of reading this summer. Everyone who signs up will receive a special gift: children will receive a free coloring book and kaleidoscope toy, while teens and adults will enjoy a free gift to launch their reading adventures.

Children and teens who register during our kickoff week (June 2–7) will also be able to order a free T-shirt in their size and receive their reading log for the summer and the reading log for the Blue Zoo in Rogers.

By completing and submitting their reading logs, children will earn two complimentary tickets to the Amazeum in Bentonville and gain entry into our grand prize drawing.

Teens submitting their completed reading logs will receive a gift card to Sammy’s Scoops and an entry in our grand prize drawing.

Adults who meet their reading goals will also get a gift card and a chance to win two tickets to the Branson All Access Pass or a Grand Country Music Hall show in the grand prize drawing.

Beyond reading incentives, each branch will host weekly Take-and-Make crafts, passive activities, and select storytimes for families to enjoy. We are also thrilled to present a series of educational and entertaining speakers throughout the summer, including Will Stuck, a Children’s author, C.G. Baird, a Mad Scientist, representatives from the Missouri Department of Conservation, Lori Smith from the University of Missouri Extension, and many more exciting surprises and activities!

Reading unlocks a world of color, creativity, and imagination. We encourage families and individuals throughout McDonald County to participate in this vibrant and enriching summer experience.

This project is supported by the Institute of Museum and Library Services under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act as administered by the Missouri State Library, a division of the Office of the Secretary of State, and the generous contributions of our community businesses.

Let’s “Color Our World” together—one book at a time!

All Programs at the McDonald County Library are free to attend.
