McDonald County Library Receives LSTA Technology Mini-Grant for Computer Replacement
The McDonald County Library is excited to announce that it has been granted an LSTA Technology Mini-Grant totaling $13,426.00, which has enabled the Anne Croxdale Memorial Library to replace all eight patron computers and two laptops with newer, high-performing models. We are grateful for the financial support that has allowed us to maintain the top performance of our systems.
Library computers must be replaced every five years to prevent issues and expenses associated with repairing outdated models that experience slow processing times and other problems. The Southwest City computers were acquired through an IMLS Grant in 2017, and it has been six years since their installation. Despite some issues, the library has been fortunate enough to keep them running, but it was time for an upgrade.
The McDonald County Library is immensely thankful for the opportunity to enhance our patrons' experience through grant-funded projects such as this.
This project was made possible in part by the Institute of Museum and Library Services. “This project is supported by the Institute of Museum and Library Services under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act as administered by the Missouri State Library, a division of the Office of the Secretary of State.” www.facebook.com/USIMLS
